Choe U-Ram is an artist who has created works that utilize machinery and electronics to explore the theme of human desire. This lecture will explore his artistic journey, creative philosophy, and production process.The lecture begins with Choe U-Ram's family history. His grandfather, who started an automobile manufacturing business in the 1950s, his grandmother, who dreamed of becoming a pilot, and the political and social environment in Korea that he experienced as a child played an important role in shaping his artistic worldview.Later, in college, he experimented with moving sculptures and built his own artistic world. In particular, the insights he gained from the reality that modern people's desires are infinitely expanded through technology have become the core themes of his work, and the process of formally realizing them (conceptualization, design, production, etc.) will be explained in detail.Through this lecture, students will have the opportunity to explore the possibilities of convergence between art and technology and gain a deeper understanding of the artist's creative process of conveying social messages through moving sculptures.
